Hey man, Ive been looking into a chip for my car for ages! (Cant seem to save the $$$ tho) Basically a few chips on the market allow for a custom program to be stored on the chip. Unichip is one of em. Its a fully programmable plug-in style chip that connects to the diag port of yer EEC-IV/V ECU. When u get it installed its programmed in real-time on a dyno so that the programmer can input axact fuel and ignition maps to suit the mods to yer car, so it can perform at its best at all times. You will probably find that a unichip on yer ford will cost you around the $1200-1400 mark. The chip will help gain the most out of yer exsisting mods.

If you call the Bayswater APS factory they will quote a price for you. I had mine installed there for $1190 inc dyno, and it is well worth the price. The increase all over the rev range in power is VERY noticable, it also helps to remap when other mods have been done to your car. Also they will reconfigure if you get other mods in the future or also remove and replace in your new car (when you update!)

Unichip does not plug into the diagnostic port. It connects between the ECU and the main wiring harness.

Most places recommend that you get exhorst first but it doesnt really matter except that if you get the chip first then, once you get the exhorst you have to take it back and remap... etc etc

OK, now which would cost more, the headers, Cats back, 2.5 pipes through to exhaust or the unichip?

Unichip is good but its abit limited from an aftermarket computer, but its the best interceptor around I reckon.
