Ive got an EL XR8 5 speed..
Just wondering if a Unichip is worth getting?
My car is booked in for a Unichip this Tuesday with Spiro at Autotech, also getting my ss induction & bmc air filter installed..
Its already got an excaust and pacemakers..
I plan on doing alot more to the car in the near future, ie. heads, cam, throttle body, etc..
Yes, it is worth it.You'll be amazed at the improvements and honestly wonder why you didnt do it ages ago.
Be it unichip, chiptorque or XEDE, the improvements a chip will make over a stock ECU is stunning.
you will love it, and you have taken your car to the right place from all reports here Spiro is a very good tuner, your cars throttle response should improve, enjoy your new power..
then get yourself a cam, most say i bigger T/B dont to much...

Cheers..
Spiro has done mine(unichip that is) and Bluedriver's and several other forum member's cars. In fact I'm hoping to be back very soon to get my chip remapped after some more mods coming soon.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Once it's done you'll definitely be back on here telling us all about it lol.

Thats good news fellas..
Im glad i asked you guys before i cancelled the whole thing.. LOL.. My car has been booked in for over a week now, wouldv hated to have cancelled it then re-booked..
The Unichip is going in this Tuesday by the way, gotta be there 8:30am and looking forward to it again thanks to yous :)
I hate to put a spanner in the works, but personally I would cancel it. Not for the reasons you think though.
They most certainly work, and work well as most here have pointed out, however if as you say you are going to do future mods, you'd be better off getting most (if not all) proposed mods done and out of the way before you have a chip fitted.
This will save you having to re-map it each time and costing further money.
That's how I would do it anyhow.
Rick.
