Re: UNICHIP,XEDE or TSI which can do base idle control on a GT or XR8
Peter
Im looking at putting bigger cams in my GT and looking for a method of liffting the idle to around 900-1000RPM because these cams have eratic idle below 800rpm.

Mate how big are the cams you intend using in the GT (send me the cam specs via pm and I will have a fair idea how big the problem may be). The idle problem if there is one will be the mixtures going lean, rich, lean, rich at idle and this can be corrected via the Unichip computer to some degree depending on how big the idle problem is, we need to assist the lambda sensors to hold the mixtures at stoimetric to idle well and to avoid cam roll. In addition the idle speed can also be raised through the base idle timing map (50 to 100 rpm approx) so this will also assist the idle quality.

The words from Lachlan regarding this
With a ChipTorque "Chip" on all EECIV and EECV (that's EA to AUIII) Falcon, we can control not only fuel and timing but idle speed; post start enrichment; Open Loop commanded Air/Fuel Ratio; Rev Limit; Speed Limit etc. etc. These are the little blue modules which use the J3 port on the bottom of the original EEC ECU.
With a BA, for the next forsee-able few months at least, we are not able to change commanded idle speed on the "Fly-By-Wire" systems. All piggyback or interceptor style systems including those described, only command fuel and ignition timing control modification not idle speed.

Want to adjust your idle speed? Simple. Make a well measured rubber band on your accelerator so that it is always constantly depressed a few mm (or to the point of your desired idle).

I Think that explains it
