updates on my el ghia

no pics as yet....been real busy

ive got the new mirrors, the are silver....dont really suit the navy bluew body.....kinda looks like those excels u see goin round with sivler body and yellow mirrors/door handles/wipers lol

its in getting a heap of work for the roadie now

heres the list

-air bag light stays on, send to ford
-front windows get stuck
-tint to dark, remove tint
-front struts
-rear shocks
-windscreen
-tail pipe
-wiper blades
-adjust front wheel bearings
-front pads
-rear pads
-rear rotors
-centre muffler
-full service and tune

all for the grand total of $1700

would have come alot cheaper if i done some of the work myself but i havent got the time so i figure just pay someone to get in on the road ASAP

so the car will come back on tuesday and is booked in at Vic Roads for wednesday morning

after that its all fun!!

i drove it this morning (got a permit to drive it unregistered) and i couldnt beleive how nice it was, cant wait to get it back and feel the difference

pics soon!!

$1700?

Yep, the ****s at the mechanics got me for $2000 for my roadworthy. Thats why I do all the work myself from now on!(and get a better job as well)

well i just went down to look over the work thats being done and i couldnt be happier with the work and their customer service, ive never been to a place that wants to go out of their way to help a complete stranger

and whats better is im paying an extra $150 and getting a 2.1/5 inch sports exhaust with a twin dump pipe, (the pipes arnt as big as your traditional dumper), the car will be ready today but i wont have the money to pick it up until tuesday,

and whats better is the owner of the place says he wants people to go to his workshop on saturday mornings and use his facilities to work on their own cars, he doesnt care because he is sick of seing kids on drugs bla bla bla, he says for a slab you have full use of all his tools

i highly recommend mr muffler at lilydale, alot of people dont like them but they are doing the right thing by me

they will be seing me regularly!!

Good stuff with your car. You must be itching to have it all finished and ready to drive?!

Sounds like really good stuff with that mechanic - why don't a lot of people like them?

Re: updates on my el ghia

Donuts: if it's any consolation, I got hit with $1500 for my roadworthy. The mechanic was an alright guy to talk to, and seemed trustworthy. Since then I've been to various mechanics and even the good ones sometimes worsen over time as they change owners etc - always be watchful! I've found DIY the go as well.

Glad you're happy with the service though, eafairmontghia. Keep us posted. :s5

Re: updates on my el ghia

Hey Paul, how much is he charging you for the RW?

I might get my RW done down there too, they're only a few minutes from my place :-)
