Can a fairmont console be installed into the xr dash to have climate control?

Nope. Ford won't allow it unfortuantely, this is exactly what 'd want to do too.

If not just for the parts that are immediately different then progressing towards replacing the whole dash?

Does anyone know if all the heater systems etc are different or would it just be the command module?

I can't really answer but didn't the heater controls switch from vacuum to electric (to control output vent selection). I think the price would be inhibitive but if you have the money anthing could be done. I would love a climate control with dual zone spilt in our wagon. My wife is always either too hot or too cold and I have to suffer.

I have sent the first post to my "contact" at Ford for a reply. Hope their not too busy biulding all those BA's, gearing up for LWB models, starting production planning on Territory, the new s...oops almost went too far.

it can be done but you have to fit another motor and flap to the heater case, fit the fairmont comand centre for the climate control. Possible wiring loom changes and then you have to reprogram the ECU to talk to the new radio and new body control modules. This is all I can think of off the top of my head but anything can be done especially with money, and we all know that if anyone can do it it will be laminge as he has his own offshore back account.

well aftermarket, anything is possible. Will Ford do it? They said no to me.

I just hope we see an up spec FPV XR6T, that's what i want.

I like my comforts as well, I do about 40,000 kliks a year, so comforts make it easier on a late nite trip, even if they do add a bit of wieght to the car and slow it down.

That is the main reason I bought a GTP and not a GT or XR8. Same as TS50, I am used to my comforts in the old Fairmont Ghia.
Oh and the Brembos helped the decission too.
