Anyone know of any performance orientated shock absorbers for my XR6.
Would like to have it feel a bit more settled on the road as i think with the factory shocks it is a little to comfort orientated.
Seems to move around a little to much when driven quickly.
Regards Brett.
I think Ford chose a too soft spring rate on the front of these cars. I don't think the shocks are overly bad. I will however comment that after driving a BA Pursuit with a couple thousand kays on board my Pursuit with 27000km feels soft. The shocks are already wearing noticeably, especially in rebound.
I'd suggest trying the off-the-shelf Bilsteins which I have heard great things about. Problem is they are proving so popular they are normally on back order (no stock as I write). I think they're $500+ a pair for the fronts but they'll last the life of the car and you can do what I do - swap them out when you sell.
Bilsteins are the best shocks I have ever had the privilege of using in my car
