Check out the cars this bloke is selling. Seems to have a great deal of cars sold claiming they are gen. GT's, Goss Specials and the like.
Has anyone else seen this site? If he is getting the real GT's etc, my thoughts are that these are our genuine history and muscle cars!!!! They should be kept here!!!
hahahaha... This is a good topic that will got a lot of bickering..
Where is that guy from the states? He will remind you that other countries import them too and that we import the south african fairmont GTs and so on..
I intially felt like you did.... but when it comes down to it, the piddly amount of GTs that go overseas is nothing compared the amount we have here. And as has been said earlier, americans will spend more money ressurecting a practically dead XB Coupe that we would use for a parts car - vice versa with stangs or whatever..
Yeah, I dont see a problem with our GT's going overseas. Its not like there are so few of them that you cant find one to buy.
Atleast this way some old GT's will actually get restored and be kept pristine.
If you read the guys page, theres a grand total of 80 "Aussie Fords" in the states. Big Deal.
Its not like finding a coupe is as hard as trying to find a 67-68 Mustang Fastback in decent condition. Everyone seems to be buying them to build "Eleanors"...
I'm getting tired of people whining about it. So coupes aren't cheap anymore.... nor are XW-XYs either. Deal with it. SO yeah. no probs with it. If they want to throw money at them in the USA, no probs.
Good on the yanks for showing such good taste. If there going to go to the trouble of importing an old car they will spend the money to look after it.
Not like some people over here which still drive cars into the ground
Never heard of

I'm here:) Just been busy getting my XA stripped and into the shop to be soda blasted. Now I FINALLY get to see how much bog is hidden in it! Lord knows the unibody isn't even close to straight and the cowl vent has a couple of inches of bog slopped onto it to cover the rust.....heck it still has finger prints in the dried bondo!
The Mad Max site has been around for 4-5 years. The guy that owns the company hasn't brought any cars in for a while. He was the first "organized" importer and brought in the most cars......about 40. He actually owned one of the first "know" Falcons over here. That car is a Goss special that was brought to the US by an Aussie student. When he finished school he sold the car and went home. There is another company called Aussie Coupes that has brought in several cars and then there are several Aussie ex-pats that have brought in cars and then sold them to bring in other cars.
don't forget to post some photos when she's finished, XAFALCONGS.
Will do mate! It will not be out of the shop until March. The work is quite extensive as it will be up on a rotisserie for stripping. When the paint work is done, it will have as good a paint job under the rear seat as it has on the roof or front guards! There will be a good bit of stitch welding, sub-frame reinforcement, and suspension mounting point relocation. Color will be 1971-73 Mustang Light Pewter Metallic with a "Raw" Orange XA GS stripe.....should look pretty damn good. Wheels are Simmons 18x11 rear and 17x9 fronts, rubber is 335/30-18 and 255/40-17. 23 year dream finally coming true.....long time to wait for "JUST" an old car:)
