voltmeter reads high

my voltmeter (eb11) reads 16 volts whenever the engine is running is this a common fault, the alternator is fine its been doing this for over a year.

it happened to me once...i think it was the gauge playing up. I just got a change over cluster from the wreckers.

EASPRINT, got a price on the radiator today from coventrys $301+
rang 2 radiator shops both said $198 to fit new tanks to the exsiting radiator

yup, just got this months special book from cov's today and they have brand new radiators for 170 dunno if that trade or what........

toby123, we dont get the monthly specials list for some reason but they said $301 to us (supercheap) will try ringing them again on Monday before I end up with an air-cooled eb

How accurate is the meter? Overcharging may be indicated by the water level in the battery needing frequent topups. It may not be adjustable and the control module in the generator may have to be replaced.
