Havin a browse through CAPA's website and i see they have SHM blocks available for the Ford modular V8 engines up to 6L capacity.
They have been specifically designed stronger than standard for motorsport use, there is a whole list of upgrades on their website.
Looking at their price list it's about $9000 for a block.
Wackin one of these in ya falcon would get the jump on the Holden boys with their new 6L engines.
Would make an ideal building block for a new hipo falcon for Ford to build!

How would you go about getting such a block from the USA into Australia?

sea freight i'm guessing - what would this cost.

I'm curious not planning on doing it..

Um sea would be the cheapest. Contact people who bring containers in, companies advertise in unique cars and the likes. For an engine i would expect 1000 plus import taxes and tariffs. A whole 20' container should set you back $5000 au. You could fed ex it i've heard they are fairly cheap.

9k is alot too much i reckon. as for shipping containers you can get secondhand 'sealed' (meaning they are sea worthy and dont leak) for around the $2000AU mark, yours to own and keep....or sell.
