what a find

looked at a car today that i thought was a 1970-ish torino. turned out it was a 1970 1/2 falcon with a 302, 3 speed. pretty good condition, bought it for $500.00, original motor and trans with labels in the trunk and under the hood. wierd thing is you have to put it in reverse to get the key out. is this normal (safty feature) needs paint, and the smell out of it but runs real good. i understand only 26,000 of these were built.

You are one lucky fella!!! If I understand you correctly it's a manual tranny. there's a linkage rod that's adjustable to eliminate the key removal problem.

yea, ill have pics by the weekend, pulling the motor tomorrow to clean and replace gaskets, and pulling the exhaust for new. trying to locate a book to check on the linkage. the only thing i dont like about it is the shift on the column, like mine on the floor, but no cutting on this project
