From the Ford website '17" x 8" Alloy Wheels - 235/45 ZR17 tyres"

I think the tyres are Dunlop SP3000s, or SP9000s

SP3000's for the 17" rims
SP9000's for the 18" optional rims

SP3000s...the AUs had SP9000s but to cut money they changed to the 3000s....and you can tell..especially when pushing into a corner...thats why i got SP9000s put on my 17"wheels.

Re: What Rubber is on the BA xr6 17"

I had SP9000 on my au XR.They would have to be the worst wearing tyre ive ever had and thats with rotating them every 5000km.I now have a Ba XR with SP3000 with much better improvement in tyre wear.

Yep. Dunlop SP3000 are stock on 17s, SP9000 on stock 18s.

SP3000 are "useless"!.. other than "run-in" rubber and will be the first thing to not be replaced!

As been posted Dunlop SP's.

I had Pirelli P5000 (looked as though a plumbers soldering iron had been dragged throught the middle) on my AU XR8. I had fantastic wear and grip from them. A lot comes down to how and where you treat them.

Regards

Paul.

My XR6 ute came with 235/45X17 Dunlop SP9000's standard. They are wearing fast, but the wet and dry grip is outstanding after I worked out the right tyre pressures!! I have recently been quoted $445.00 ea to replace them!

The SP3000s are the standard tyre, but Ford run out of them sometimes, so they fit the SP9000s to get the cars out to the dealers. The pirce diff is amaxing - SP3000 are around $250 each, SP9000 for around $375 each is the cheapest i have seen.
