be very close, my brothers stock AU with a CAI, done a 16.2 on a hot day, on a cooler day he will beat that...have a look in the E series forums about the EF..
I have have an EFII Ghia (Tickford motor) and have had a bit of a run against an AU XR6 up to the speed limit (90km/h) and it was very close. His car was also an auto but I got done by about a 1/4 of a car in the end. He sorta crept ahead bit by bit. Very close and one of the most fun runs I have had.

as you said. i had an AU forte and raced a few times agaonst my friends EF fairmont. he got me off the start and over distance i caught him and crept away. i noticed too that when i hit 100000km my cars performance was getting better and he didnt get me as bad from take off. guess the engine was just starting to wear in and feels its groove!!
