Thumbs down Wheels February out

Just spent an hour chasing around to get the latest copy of Wheels.

No tests on the XR8, will have to wait until March edition.

Its got another bloody Monaro on the cover, how many different cars are they going to test the Monaro against.

Interesting comparo between the Fairmont Ghia, BMW 5 series and Merc E320.

Very dissapointed in general.

Monaro gets the same interior as VY, a few more kw and little else and they have to start sticking it on the front cover.

Looks like Motor will be first then.

The Ghia got a good wrap against two high quality opponents.

Good to see both Ford and Holden hold there own against the Euros.

I'm a bit pissed off that wheels advertised the XR8 would be in the latest mag (in Jan edition), and nothing!
This is false advertising, they should get their arse kicked for doing it. I'm sure Motor did it aswell in the Jan issue, saying the XR8 would be in the Feb edition. I could be wrong (I can't find my Jan Motor).

Last months Wheels definitely stated they would have XR8 test.

Its 40 deg C in Melbourne and I busted my chops to start work early finish before the heat and sit down and read Wheels. NO XR8 test, just a comparo with the Ghia and BMW/Merc. One thought I had though, IMAGINE the car FoMoCo could build with the budget given to developing a 5 series bimmer or E class Merc, or in reverse imagine what the Germans would come up with if given only AUS$ 500 Mill. We do it better for less and the Ghia was very far from shamed. I think it was the best an Aussie has done against the euro's.

You would hope that they both would be better cars than the Fairmont costing over twice as much!
