Lease mine - tax benefits are good and it doesnt use up important funds which can be used on other things like land and buildings.
To this day I can't see how it weighs up better to lease, your still paying through the nose than what the bloody wheels are worth and more regardless of the benefits. Damned if I'm going to borrow on something that 1 depreciates and 2 ongoing costs far out way the tax benefit.
Just my opinion

Depends what you term 'owns'. I do not have a loan on my car, but I do have a mortgage which sits at around 65% of the value of our house - it's called using the equity in your home.
So, realistically, I don't owe a cent on either car, but i guess technically I do.

Have owned the EA for ages (paid $5,500 for it) Considering an AU1xr6 next year (skipped a few e-series there) and i'll need half finance half cash if i go down that road.
- paid cash in full for my XD (first car)
- paid 1/2 of my EA and borrowed the other 1/2 off my aunty and paid her back over 6 months
- paid cash in full for the XR8 Sprint
all my other cars were under $1000 when i bought them so i just paid cash and then did them up
