It's been a long long time since I've been to a drive-in, but the last time I was there they'd replaced the speakers that hang in your window with a cable that clipped onto your aerial and you tuned your radio into a low powered frequency that was listed in the snack bar and picked up the sound through your car stereo.
With the BA having on-glass aerial technology, would I still be able to get sound if I went to a drive-in????
Any help with this question would be appreciated post-haste :hy:
They still have the speakers that hang off your window, you can use them. There are still plenty of them as some older radios can't use the clips.
You might try clipping the aerial clip as close to the windscreen as possible. Other than that, who knows?
Hopefully we might get to Blacktown drive in with a few members of the club. It's been a while since we had a drive in night. I go all the time, much better value then the cinema.
Not sure about the aerial, but the other reason you go to the drive in works!
Lets just say there is plenty of room in the back of the BA, and the boot is big too. Although the new IRS can cause back pain during extended periods of time.:hy:
I went to the drive in a few weeks ago and i seen a BA wagon there, a DEWALT one, this was at Dromana Drive-in in melbourne, you just tune u'r radio to a frequency and its there, no clips needed.
Mate, sorry to distract attention from your gigantasaurus Minginator thread, but even the little people need their five minute of fame, and real life must go on for those of us without the bank overdraft of a small Central American nation :s6:
The last time I went to a drive in was begining of last year(2001) and you just tune your stereo into a radio station that they tell ya.
No clip on thingy's these days....
Gotta say tho, its f^&*ing awesome when you have a big stereo with subs and amps etc.... beats going to the indoor movies!! Though its crap when you get a flat abttery!!
Last time I went to the drive-in I was in a 67 Valiant with 4 mates in coburg. Simply tuned the dial into the FM frequency - none of this clip business. Rained throughout the whole film too - and because of the crappy car I had to manually control the intermittent wipers as it didn't have that function! Had a sore arm by the end of the film. Lots of fun though.
just bring plenty of blue tak and stick the thing to the back window.. the aerial should pick it up..me thinks.. hehe
