Woohoo finally got it!

Well its been a while since I have posted so I thought Id better give you fellas an update!

I got my new ride, same car as in this post previously ->
hmm Up and Down

What can I say..its awesome compared to my last ride. Its responsive, fun to drive and even better: its sounds awesome as I got a 2.5' system put on today. I love the way it burbles!

For anyone planning to do any mod, I reccomend doing the zorts first! My car needs lowering I know, but Im soo glad I did this before.

Having the manual is just crazy, I cant believe I wasted my time with that 3 speeder..

Only problem im having at the moment is that I think its running really rich. Ive gone through a bit over 1/4 of a tank with only 122km's to show for it. Im not being that much of a lead foot either. Ill see if it gets any better.

My next planned mod are thermos, as the fan noise seems to be alot more noticable than my last car. Its not overly loud, but enough for me to want that shitty clutch fan gone.

Silly little mods I will do during the holidays are painting the rocker cover, totally debadging it, painting the red pinstipe in the models blue and some clear BA indicators will be on soon.

Ive already put on a EB GT boot, and have a very classy looking SAAS knob to suit. Anyways ill stop just wanted to share my happiness with ya's!

Oh before I forget:

MAD_NC8 - could you please hunt down some of that glue for the lip spoiler :)

EFFALCON - I still haven't got my e-series stickers..*sniff sniff*, I have been stalking the posty for the last week to no avial.

Re: Woohoo finally got it!

yeah I love it. Even though its not a genuine XR by the time Im done it will be just as good, actually I hope alot better.

Although I REALLY miss my ghia interior. The s-pack interior has just been re-trimmed, but still, no where near as compfortable as the velour in the ghia. And manual window winders..WTF!

Congrats mate, you won't ever go back to an auto after driving a manual! It's too much fun eh?

Re: Woohoo finally got it!

Great stuff matey, I know how you feel. I'm not really a manual person myself, but I was genuinely astounded at how inefficient the 3 speed/2.77 combo is compared to the 5 speed, or any other car on the road for that matter.

Feel free to post more pics. :s5

By the way, I've said it a million times but the first thing to check when running rich is that the thermostat is not making the car run cold.

Re: Woohoo finally got it!

If it's running cold it will take an abnormal amount of time to warm up, if at all.

Yeah it's a common problem, easy fix though.

Congrats on getting it!
