Seems like you will need to fetch out a fair bit of money fixing her up. I'm just having a guess here, but you'll need to spend at least $1000-$1500. With that extra money, you could get yourself a nice EB S or similar.
I personally think its a little high in the price. I also don't really like dealing with family when selling cars either.
But if you really like it, and can afford all the stuff that needs doing, go ahead,
well the way im looking at it is the air con compressor isnt really a necessity, the bonnet and carpets can wait as well, so all i really need to spend is about $400, $200 on a windscreen and $200 on tyres
i should mention that the price is inbetween $2500 and $3000
also im not really close to him and he has screwed me over many a time, so if i can ill get it for $2500 which will screw him over (revenge is a bitch)
also even tho the odometer says 266,000kms, the engine was fully rebuilt at 240,000kms so the new engine had only done 25,000kms
and also like mentioned before i know the history (which in some cases is not a good thing lol)
i dunno, how often does a chance to get a series two ghia for around $3000 come along?

If he's screwed you over before why are you even thinking about it? Is he lieing about the stuff he did? Does he have reciepts???
If he does than that sounds like a great buy.
3000 for a Fairmont with all that stuff done is cool.

Never let or give anyone the chance to screw u over a second time! Once is fair enough, u had no warning, but twice is just stupid.
If you really want this car and u suspect hes messing with yam get the car thoroughly checked out and ask him for reciepts for all the stuff (especially the tranny and engine rebuilds) If all is ok and u really like the car then go for it.
I think the car actually sounds pretty good for the money. With all that work done I would expect it to be quite reliable. If the body and interior is in reasonable shape then I would go for it. Consult the trading post to see what an S2 EA Ghia goes for these days.
last time i checked (bout a month ago) they were going inbetween $3500 to $4500, i only saw a few under the $3500 mark if it had damage on various areas...so yeah i think my mind is made up.....time for me to join the ea posse!!

I'm not sure about over east, but here in WA you see lots of EA ghias for around $2,500.
If he wants in between $2,500 - $3,000 then offer him less!.
Offer him $2,000 cash, you never know, when your standing there with $2,000 in your hand, I bet it would be pretty tempting for your bro. Just try man it dosnt hurt.
