I have been looking in the local paper recently (as I always do) and there has been a few good AU V8's in there. One really caught my eye as the ad said it was an auto AU2 V8 ex pursuit with ridiculously low k's and in immaculate nick. The guy only wants $18,000 for it and I was wondering what you guys thought. I would be a bit nervous about buying an ex pursuit car as it would obviously have been thrashed.
no way !
I have seen ( and done ) atrocious things to those cars in the course of duty. They are abused because they are a tool and treated as such.
Plenty of people have bought ex police cars and been happy but never for me.
haha...i agree with xacoupe, my brother when starting off in the blue jarmies a few years back said that curb and roundabout hopping wasnt unusual in the squad cars and the divvy vans (especially those barina combo things) lifted the arse end off speed humps on regular occasions!

I third what xa said. A good friend is a copper who is in the traffic division (TOG??). After what he tells me about their cars I wouldnt go near one. It's a miricle they actually survive their tour of duty!

What he said!! I've known enough guys who have bought them cheap, thinking they are "teh shizznt", only to end up paying 1/2 as much again in the first 6 months in repairs and maintenance.
Not a good investment! Spend a little bit more and get a "civilian" model!!!
