Hi guys and girls

I have been looking at different exhaust systems lately and have noticed alot of dual systems have the X pipe configuration. Can any body tell me what X pipe is for?

Straight after the cats the pipes come together and touch and move apart again, where they touch they cut a whole where they join each other which creates a balance pipe. Suppose to help down low torque, much more affective on high kw engines.
