hi guys,new to the forum game,i have almost finished my xb 74 sedan,351 clevo,c4 auto, 9 inch,you know the usual suspects.A while back i replaced all the wiring from the battery in the rear to the front starter,that is 2.5 hp reduction stater motor cv from rocket industries.Now all wiring has been checked,and the motor has been started for at least 20-30 times no sweat,battery voltage has been chected at 13.5 volts plus 1000 cranking amps,also tried jump starting from another car. only the pin is firing but not engaging the flywheel.Should i run a socket on the crank to move a little in case there is an alignment problem? regards phill

yeap that could be worth a shot. It sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Is the starter spinning and not engaging or is it just a click. If just a click then connection or faulty starter perhaps.

thanks for the response,the starter was removed from the car and had the bushes looked at and bench tested, ok was given ,re installed on the car ,re checked all connections,fired up ok,,soz for the late response as we have been overseas.
