I was just checking out ebay and I noticed that, under the bonnet of a V8 powered XE fairmont ghia, the ribbing underneath was a different pattern than on my bonnet, which was originally a six.
Is this the case, did the V8 XD/XE's have a different pattern to clear things like air-con and air-cleaner? This would certainly explain why my air conditioning compressor has been hitting the underneath of the bonnet.
No difference between 6 and 8 cyl bonnets on XE's. All XE's (except Ghias) up to 11/83 used XE16612A, from 11/83 (except Ghias) used XE16612C, and all Ghias used XE16612B.
