Best thing to do mate would be either give the Ford Dscovery Centre a call, or send them an email with the details.
They should be able to help you out.

Yeah engine code Y for XE is a 4.1 EFI

model 18238 is Fairmont Ghia (which ESP's were based)

Do you have a book that gives all the codes for vin numbers???

look for the ghia id tag,
should b sprayed in same colour as the car, and have ESP stamped on it
ask ford.. they should know
