Yesterday I went to F1 Performance in Blackburn, had my XR8 Ute fitted with a XEDE chip was installed under my dash you can not see it, if you reach under you grab the cable to plug the computer in for tuning. Tucks back under so it can’t be seen, under the bonnet all you see is 5cm of black plastic cover coving the wires very neat job. George at F1 Performance looks to me like he takes a lot of pride in his work; the chip can be fitted under the bonnet also, but doesn’t look as tidy, he prefers not to put it under bonnet, takes 1 hour longer to fit under the dash though.Took about 3 hours to fit and 1 hour on the Dyno, while fitting he likes to be left alone to work but while doing the dyno I was more than welcomed to watch the tuning. Before XEDE chip car had 214 rwkw, then after putting in the supplied software car made 222 rwkw after the fine tuning he got it up to almost 231 rwkw I was happy with that….The car has lots more power down low its like different car the throttle response is much better breaks traction when booted all the time now on take off, I have an auto and the down low lag or throttle response was very poor. I have had several runs at Calder I have only ever done one 60 foot 2.1, last night at Calder I had 6 runs had 2 wheel spin take offs and 4 runs with 60 foot 2.1 my time only improved slightly improved looks like I have lost a little in the middle range of power comparing my tickets from last week to this week. Spoke F1 Performance morning George will plug the laptop in and on Friday he will tune it while I am driving on the freeway. This is there 1st XR8 install and they want to get it right, there are 2 more FF guy’s to have it done shortly. They have done 2 GT’s also.. so I will keep you posted, and if you need to give your car a boost especially down low have a look at the XEDE it works and thanks to the boys at F1 Performance in Blackburn for there neat work…See the 2 Dyno sheets are attached below..
good work! is that graph saying that your car is speed limited to 180kmh or is that the extent of the dynos capabilties? never done a dyno so i dont know.

I am no Dyno expert, but it looks like they put KPH instead of RPM rev range, not sure if they use 2 or 3rd gear.. asked someone today he says 2nd is the norm but i will ask...

Excellent to hear Mark, I'm glad the beast is getting some more oomp for Heathcote! Not that it needed any more but sounds like it's turning out how you wanted!
