They would be the best shot at a conversion, they make kits for retro fitting to focus's, 5 series, e class, golf, astra, a3 etc...
I think its a bit of a downer Xenon isn't even a high priced option on australian cars, it makes it so much clearer at night and if you do alot of night driving well worth the money.. Just don't hit a roo!
There are no xenon, or HID, kits available to fit the BA, or any other, Falcon. You could get a universal kit and try and fit it. However you will be wasting your money. Lights designed for HID use different designs for the reflectors. The use of HID globes in normal headlights will cause glare and the light output isn't worth the expense. The HID retro fit kits that are available for other cars also include self leveling and high pressure washers. HID low beam requires self leveling and high pressure headlight wash by ECE law, I hazard a guess that the ADRs are inline with that law. HID used for HIGH beam or driving lights don't require leveling or washers. If you really find that your standard lights are less then brillant, try Phillips vision plus or other high quality 55/60w globes.

another thing ill add, FTEfan, regarding the reflactors........
ive noticed that with the headlights that have HID, the reflectors are made of an entirely different plastic, and are much much thicker.
these would act as a heatsink i would presume, and the BA reflectors are nothing compared to the benz ones.......
personally i wouldnt dare try fitting HID into anything other than the car that its engineered for...
(in case you didnt realise i fix headlights for a living lol)
Hi
Thanks for the responses - I had guessed as much regarding a full HID upgrade - any recommendations on better quality globes (white vs blue) etc etc
Just reading through all these posts here and thought I would finally reply even though i haven't been on this site in years. A hid conversion kit will not fry the insides of a new light. They draw 35 watts as opposed to 50/55W halogen, they also produce more light. in a 55W halogen only about 10% is converted to light..the rest heat. 35W HID its about 25%....the end result... HID lights run cold.
Trust me I have six HID 240mm spotlights and they run as cool as a kitten. P.S. don't flash me if I'm in a shitty mood. :):)
