Re: XF engine power vs EA
I thought the 4.1 XF EFI produced about the same as a CFI EA. That being 120kW.

the XF wont rev though like the EA, they feel real sluggish, and get really coarse like theyre gonna let go at anythin over 4000rpm

you musta been driving a tired XF then... mine (carby) was always on teh red of teh ghia tach - 5,500, and my mates efi ghia often saw 5,800
both motors had less than 200,000 on em

Re: XF engine power vs EA
The XF 4.1 seems to have a whole lot more torque than an EA motor, my mates Carby XF punches of the line a whole lot harder than my EA.

Re: XF engine power vs EA
According to Wheels February '88:
XF EFI 4.1 unleaded: 121 kW @ 4000 rpm
EA 3.9 CFI: 120 kW @ 4250 rpm
Torque:
XF: 325 Nm @ 3000 rpm
EA: 311 Nm @ 3250 rpm
I can't seem to find the redlines of the two at the moment.
