Has anyone out there recently taken delivery of a factory order XR6?

If so, I was wondering how long you were waiting from the time you ordered.

I will be ordering mine before the end of this week and the dealer reckons 6 to 8 weeks because of all the options (....everything but the beetroot!)

If it is up to 8 weeks I'm not worried but I've heard a few things from some people who feel compelled to share their horror stories, which tends to be human nature.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well, it could take 6 to 8 weeks, and it could also take longer. The salesman will usually give you the most optomistic timeframe. Every now and then it can come true, other times you will be ringing in two months and find there are delays. It happens. Hell, I ordered a guitar from the US and was told 7 to 9 months completion time. It's been 19 months and I'm still waiting.

Well, i ordered my XR6T on the Saturday of the Clipsal500, and i should pick it up this weekend. Thats about 6 weeks ago. It should be in at the dealer tomorrow. If it is, i should have it on Saturday. Here's hoping.

Aeron, I have been following your thread and it would appear thatyou are as stoked to be collecting yours as I am to be ordering mine. 6 weeks would be sweet!

It takes around 4-6 weeks depending on where you are and how many allocations the dealer gets from Ford.

I would say as a worst case, around 7-8 weeks, best case may be 4 weeks.

Mine took exactly 4 weeks from order to being at the dealer. Ordered mine from Etheridge Ford (Ringwood - VIC).

6 weeks is fair, as they would have probarly allocated you the next XR6 available on thier stock list thats about to go into build. Usually if they get you the next one on the list its about 6 weeks, and then another week or so for delievery etc.

i waited 6 1/2 weeks for mine fully optioned out aswell long bloddy time but

I was told the wait would be up to 2 months but he rang back later saying the colour I wanted was deleted (citric acid) but he had a black one in stock that just came off the truck. Ended up buying that one as it looked sweet and waiting 2 months would have killed me. The wait would make you appreciate it more though.

Ordered my XR6 NA Lux Pack with all other options except the kitchen sink on 31/3/04. The dealer said that the order would be placed on 1/4/04 as the Lux Pack was only available from April. So I think I would be one of the first to get the pack. They said 4-8 weeks (the dealer said I am covering my back due to easter and Anzac day) but expect 6 weeks. I rang yesterday - it is set for delivery to the dealer either end of first week of May or early second week - here is hoping

Newxr, ditto with mine except blueprint with Sat Nav, sunroof and 18" rims.

Can't bloody wait.
