xr6 possible engine mount problem?
Not saying this is gospel but found this on xrturbo forum.
all this power and torque on tap is great except...1 slight problem...we had one come back to us today and he had snapped the left engine mount clear in half. this took us 1-1.5 hours to diagnose as the great clunk that it was causing sounded like it was in the rear end but instead it was the engine leaping out of position and hitting the bonnet.
so be CAREFULL. fortunatley this is covered by warantee but i'd hate to see any of you without ur machine.

Anyone to diagnose a broken engine mount in nearly two hours is beyond a joke!

If this is true it'd be interesting to find out what the guy did to the car.
Sounds like one of my mates who busted a few diff's - somehow I don't think it was a problem with the diff itself.

My Silver Bullet aka SAAB 86 900Turbo, also likes to devour engine mounts, though they do last about two years with spirited driving.
My 75 351 Landau would lose the left front engine mount from time to time, gee I miss that car,,,
Come to think of it just about all of my V8s have had left hand engine mounts replaced at some time or other.
But as for the guy that breaks his own car within the warranty period, must have way too much drug money to spend...
