XR6 Violently surging when cruise control on

When I have the cruise control on, the car violently surges back and forth. No matter what speed I am going, the car surges back and forth. It is so violent sometimes that my fiance says "what the hell are you doing" even though I dont even have my foot anywhere near the brake or accelator. Can anyone help me with this problem.

Thanks

What model XR6?
Could be a faulty Vacuume actuator.
