Question XR6 Warning Light

Driving home yesterday i had the drive by wire warning light come on 3 times. Owners manual says there is a problem with the electronic throttle system. THe light comes on when engine performance will be affected. Has anyone else had this problem?
I will talk to ford about it, but you all know what it's like, unless the part actually fails or they see it malfunction, they will say there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car.

DK,
Take it to a dealer. If the car has had an electrical fault it will be loged in the ECU. They will be able to plug there there in and tell what is wrong. The Drive by wire system has 3 sensors on it. it is possible one is faulty. They have 3 just in case 1 or 2 fail.

You should be able to just rock up to the dealer and they should be able to check it for you there and then (depending on the dealer!)

Good luck.

Ok update on the whole warning light thing. Took the car in last week to have them look at it. I decided to wait while they plugged in the diagnostic unit in and found that the throttle body needed replacing. They replaced the throttle body. I was told that it was fixed and it would now be ok. So i drove out of the service garage and got 50 meters up the road when the light turned on again. D'oh. Anyway car went back in today. Got a ford focus as a loan car. Got a call from ford informing me that they would have to keep the car overnight because they're waiting for a new computer to come in. Apparently all the sensors checked out ok and they assume the computer is having some sort of problem. Simple problem has suddenly turned into a less simple problem..........Owners manual states that when the warning light is on that car performance will be reduced. (dealer says i'm supposed to get only 7% throttle to limp home). Strangely the car has been running fine.
