XR6T - XR6 = Turbo(58kw) so does 220(5.4 V8) + Turbo = 280???

I have a idea for a car, because it seems that you can buy the turbo from ford for 3.3g. so would that mean it would become a 280kw v8? as in, does the power increase stay the same, as it would in the xr6t over xr6?

Also, other than the turbo fitted to the xr6t, what other engine components are different or added to the xr6t in comparison to the xr6?

I have ideas for the prototype F8 Typhoon.........

This won't work.. Your going about it the wrong way.
Turbo's would be near impossible to fit to a 5.4 in the falcon engine bay. Definately impossibly for a factory fit. You would need two turbos, a intercooler, boost control, diffrent pistons etc etc etc.

People have fitted a Supercharger to a XR8, this would be able to be done on a production line.. Ford could source the engines already supercharged kitted either from the F-150 lightening or Ford GT.

Also your adding was a litle funny. A turbo wouldn't add 58kw, more like 50% more power.

EG
182 * 50% = 61ish
182 + 61ish = 240ish

so following that theory, a 220kw v8 would produce 330kw!! Thats a little better

The biggest problem with blowing a 5.4 is compression, especially with a turbo..A single turbo can be fitted..Yes tight but it can be done..There are single kits sold in the states for both 4.6 and 5.4 V8's..
Factory are supercharged though...

talking to Peter from APS when they get around to it they will be putting a twin turbo package on a Boss engine, they are curantly playing with a twin turbo package for an LS1..AND nissan 350Z..

Wouldn't it be 1/3 not 1/2?

Anyway, as to the other ppl's replies, I was thinking more power from base 220 v8 because the fairmont ghia's come in 182 I6 or 220 V8...

The non-oz imported older 300z had the TT set-up.. my mate owned one.. and it flew.. it was really sex on wheels that car..
As a matter of fact i still have the dam front cut in my panel shop...
