XR8 first spotting

saw my first xr8 in the flesh/metal today...
in taren point - blueprint, very nice bonnet buldge!

had trade plates on....looked like a dealer who was driving it

didnt speak to him but he saw me with my jaw on the ground as he hopped into the drivers seat to drive off, beautiful burble as he started it up - then silence......he stalled it! hehehe think he was trying to do something special for the spectator but didnt quite get it right....pulled off pretty quick once he got it started again though hehe sounded nice too when he floored it a bit!

really like the buldge, thought it looked a bit too big in the photos but looks real nice and sleek in the flesh :s6:

I've seen a couple on the roads, lucky buggers.
Also travelled along the freeway with a Silhouette XR8 ute which I would think was an Evaluation Vehicle. This one had the "original style" bonnet bulge.
Looked tuff from any perspective!

I saw my first production XR8 on saturday. It was the dealer principal's car. It was phantom in colour, and it was fitted with Herrod suspension and cat back exhaust (3" tailpipe). It sounded very sweet when reved, but very quiet when idling. The top of the front guard was at the same height as the top of the wheel (a touch higher than my ED). Sweet looking car. Hopefully taking it for a drive tomorrow .

Some bastard in Newcastle (probably more than one now!), was driving a Phantom one outside Garden City shopping center, turning from the lights, and gave it WOT .. I swear I could have heard the collective crack of necks, if it wasn't for that autoporn exhaust note

Saw one the day before the media launch of the car - what was it, about 2 or 3 weeks ago? - on the M2 going into the city. Actually saw the back of the car, started looking for a 'turbo' badge, and saw it said XR8. Bus pulled alongside long enough to see the bulge before traffic conspired to take it away. Number plate was 'V8BOSS', lucky bastard.

Yeah I took the XR8 and the white XR6T for a drive on wednesday. Both very sweet cars. They'd taken off the Herrod suspension and sold it to someone! They'd also replaced the exhaust tip with what looked like either a T-Series or XR8 duel chrome one (not 100% sure which one).
