i now there are many threads around reguarding BA fuel economy.
but just for once can you xr8 owners be kind enough to reply
how many kilometres the BA xr8 covers when the fuel tank is packed till its empty?

i have a xr6 it manages around 310 kms.

i am curious because i want to trade my xr6 for a xr8.

310km out of a tank for an XR6, damn!! I think i'd get better fuel economy out of my EL if I left it in 2 insted of D. It doesnt seem right mate, it has been said that BA do like to juice but you are getting around 20l/100km there which is not very good. Maybe a bit heavy on the go pedal?? Turbo or N/A??

From what I have gathered so far the 182 BA's avg. about 13l/100km and the BOSS BA's about 15l/100km. City driving you should get about 450km for the 6 and I'd imagine around 400km for the V8.

I have a BA XR8 only just over 2 weeks old. last weekend drove it to Harvey Bay (from Brisbane) and got around 600kms out of the tank (although this was premium unleaded and mostly highway driving). The car only had around 1000kms on it, so I'm sure the fuel economy will improve further still. Haven't checked what I am getting around town. Hope this helps.

i have never driven the for a long distance.
the trip computer tells me the car consumes 20litres per 100 kms. i worked that out and comes out to be true.
the problem is, the trip computer informs that my average speed is 30 kms per hr. now that not true as it usually drive the car above 60kmph and below 100 most of the time.

310 kms coverage is in city area.

how many kilometres does your xr8 or your xr6t
covers in the city area?

I do most of my driving around town and usually get between 380 to 420 out of a tank with 16.1 litres per 100km as an average.

Around town , anywhere from 320 to 450 , depending on right foot.
The best long distance economy I have had was 680 km on 1 tank , and it still had a few litres left in the tank when DTE showed zero.
8000 odd km on the clock , and 80 litre tank ( ute )

if i pussy foot it around town.. i get about 450-500klm.
no highway driving at all..

around town giving it a squirt about 300klm.

will fet you know how much on a highway run.. going to Echuca for the weekend jetskiing!

i talked to mate about this matter and he said the reason maybe because we get low grade unleaded fuel here in fiji. you guys are pretty lucky to cover more milage with more power and more cylenders.

I've just returned from a 13 hour (one way) country trip. 3700km in a week total round trip. Car loaded with 2 adults and three kids. Car has now done 7500Km. The best trip computer average reading was 12.8 l/100km. Now back in the city, back to 13.5 and climbing. Sitting on 115-118km as per the speedo on cruise on the counrty trip and return. At 12.8 per 100km for a 68l tank means range of 531km.

Oh sorry XR8 auto.

I get about 400kms out of a tank of premium doing city driving.
I got around 32-350 for the first 3-5000 now at 7000kms the fuel economy gets better by the day.
