All is good with the review. Motor seem very happy with the power and balance, the only draw back seemed to be the weight of the engine/car, and this causes a little bit of understeer. Quater mile times were recorded at 14.4 @ 160.4 km/h, so despite what some people have said about it being faster than the turbo it seems pretty line ball - its just your choice of 6 or 8 cylinders!!

A pretty good review for XR8!

Performance times : 0-100 6.16 400m 14.4 @160.4

Slightly slower than previous tests of the XR6T, but they definately weren't complaining.

Handling is apparently more slow in-fast out, with some understeer on the limit. This is put down to the higher centre of gravity and weight afforded by the Boss. Easy solution though...

"Heavy front-end means on-limit understeer. More throttle fixes that though"

They don't even mention the SS at all, but then trump up the inevitable comparison next issue.

I'm predicting a "horses for courses" decision.

Is that really the point?? Look I'm a bot disappointed as well, but only one run in the car so far, versus many for the Turbo and times have varied significantly for the Turbo (best I have seen reported so far is just under 6secs)

As people have more time in the 8, the times will get faster and 6.16 is a good start I guess.

As for the $8000 difference in price.......Better Gearbox, arguably better sound from the engine, that magnificent bonnet!! Is it worth it?? For the V8 sound alone, I'd probably pay the difference!! But it's all personal preference.
