the police have got VY Cop cars but know XR8s . When will the police get the new XR8. Will they wait till april when the XR8 is in auto or will they be getting them in very soon? Its just the police like to get their cars in auto.

Heard on the grape vine that Vic. TOG have cancelled their orders for the XR8's and ordered XR6T autos insted. Might be due to the delay with the XR8 autos. Similar situation in NSW I think?

According to articles in NSW publications at least, Ford offered the Police XR6T as a stop-gap measure until the XR8 Auto is available when it became obvious that it would be delayed.

Because everybody can drive them as you don't need a manual licence.

It also frees the driver to worry about other things then what gear to be in when driving at speed.

It lets the driver have a free hand if you need to operate the two way.

JR is right, due to the delay with the XR8 auto, XR6Ts have been ordered by the Police.

I think a Police car with a bonnet bulge is going to look mad!

Police XR8's are on the way.. they'll have them by the end of Feb with supply continuing from there.. Manuals to start then auto to follow when it's ready..
