XR8 test drive

My mate has a new (3000km on the clock) XR8 auto in the driveway so he rang me and asked if i would like to take it for a spin as he has taken my XT V8 manual for a spin.
So of we went with me behind the wheel with the first thing i notice was its a little flat under 3000rpm but after that its by-by XT.
Is this because its a auto, all has the stock V8 got more grunt down low.
All maybe a XT V8 manual is lighter than a XR8 auto, but shit she turns heads everywhere.
I dont like the air intake pickup below the head light, i whould hate to be the first one in a wash away with a gut full of water in the air intake.

Sounds good. The XR looks great. I have seen a few XR8's in the charcoal color and they look sweet.

auto

The explosive power and torque of the Boss 290 engine called for bulletproof transmissions that were specially designed to handle high performance applications .FPV worked closely with local automatic transmission manufacturer BTR to deliver a premium performance automatic transmission .BTR and FPV, the new
M97-019 auto is a transmission engineered to match the characteristics of the Boss engine.
