XT 5.4 Manual

The tranny in the XT 5.4 Manual - is it the same as in the XR8 and GT?

I don't think so.

I think it's the same one used in the XR6T?

Yes all BA V8 get the smother changing Tremec TR3650 because its been said that the BTR T5 box will not handle the V8 torque.

Plus the bolt pattern on the T5 is different to the Tremec

what is the performance like of a vehicle like this? would it be competitive with a series 2 VT 5.7 or VX?

They are quick, but they are not as quick as an XR8 (duh) which is as quick as a VX SS.
