Quick question for anyone in the know at a dealership (or otherwise)... Assume that I'm looking at an XT V8. For now, for arguments sake, let's say it's an auto with sports suspension (required for V8, yes?). I want to fit the optional 7 spoke 17" rims to it (model code BA 1007 BA). Now we know that an auto V8 XT may be specced from the factory with 16" alloys (whereas manuals require 17" to my knowledge), and I assume that these 16" rims have a price premium attached. My question is this - is the fitting of the optional 17's at the dealership completely transparent to the buyer? ie. I'm not expected to subsidise the 16's fitted at the factory? Are the factory 16's fitted, the car delivered to the dealer wearing them, then the optional ones fitted and the originals returned?
It might just be me, but seems a bit confusing, and certainly not all that clear!
What would the exact process be for this kind of order?
These are the rims BTW...
... and
THIS LINK would be the hypothetical end result..
Anyone?? Anyone??
