06 Freestar drips oil, though only 1/2 full on dipstick
Hi everyone-
My 06 Freestar leaks a slow drip of oil, even though the dipstick is only 1/2 way on the max mark. I realize it is a 5 qt capacity, but with 5qts, it appears low on the stick. I did put in about 1/2 qt extra. This is the second oil change where this is occurring. I am certain that the oil plug and filter are tight and this is not the leaking point. Could it really be this little addition of oil is causing the drip?
I have never had a car do this before and can't understand why a little extra could cause this?
