With regard to diffs from XD onwards, is there any way of telling if the axles are 25 or 28 spline without removing the axles?

Also, same question goes for 4 pinion vs 2 pinion. Are there any codes on the diff that could indicate what is inside the diff. I know that a red filler should indicate an LSD. Thanks.
