I have a standard LSD 2.77 i think. DOes anyone know how many spline the axles are?

Some have told me 25 and yet others have said 28

So i dont know whether to upgrade just the centre or the entire diff... (need extra strength!)

Its a 2 pin, 25 sp.

What sort of power you going to run? Auto/manual?

Im currently running a 3 speed (borgwarner 35 xe), by christmas i should have a t5.

Power figures im unsure of atm.... however i would like to see around 275bhp..... im told i can acheive that through a c.o.m.e. cam....

hence reason why i think i should go the 28spline..... its fun droppen a few burnouts with m8s.... (esp.. my m8s cuz the majority of them all have atm quicker cars than me :( )

who told you those power figures?
I had the COME treatment on my XF putting out around 230 at the engine and my stock diff and axles were fine. There were plenty of burnouts too.

My mistake cam and head sorry

I rang c.o.m.e racing and they told me that with their cam and head i can get 275 and with stg 3 head 300

what sort of price did they give you on that cause im looking at a rebuild and some work on my XF

Take it from someone who has blown 2 2pin 25sp diffs, get your self a 4 pin 28sp!! Its actually the center that is the weak link, rather then the axels tho

If it were auto, the diff would be ok, but not in a manual mate... trust me.

the 25spline axles are pissweak, you r lucky to go further than 1 corner with a minispool in one, but you will never break a 28spliner (minispooled) if you tried. proof of this, you ring a diff specialist and ask if they make tougher 28 spline axles, most don't they just say, WHAT THE, you won't break a std 28spline

you get some life out of a lsd i had a v8 xd with lsd 25 spline the open centers.

or if you can find diff from v8 center and axles from a zh -k or xc-e there all 28 spline and same wheel base so axles and center should swap over or in xe hole diff would.

I bought a complete diff and axel set up off centeral diffs (look in Street Machine for number) 4 pin lsd 308 ratio with 28 spline axels for $800 I think (comletely re-built)
So why not just get some thing like that done
