2wd to 4wd conversion questions

I am looking into converting an 85' 302 EFI 2wd to a 4wd. I have come across a rolled 85, 351 4wd (for a couple hundred). I am unsure of the tranny type, but know that it was recently rebuilt. My question is about the feasability of taking the axles (all in good shape) and tranny and transfer case and installing them on by newly rebuilt 302. What are you thoughts? any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion questions

What car are we talking about, exactly? If the 4wd system comes off the same model of car, chances are it will fit easy enough... retrofitting a 4wd system would be plagued by all sorts of problems.

TQE, SWB, ATPS, Worst of the E-series.. and I wouldn't have it any other way

Re: 2wd to 4wd conversion questions

I think he is talking about an f-series, I read somewhere that there is some differences in the chassis between 4wd and 2wd
