3.0 TO 3.5 GEARS- Will I notice the difference?

Hi All,

Just got my 9" rebuild with 3.5 gears instead of the 3.0 gears- will I notice any difference in acceleration- pick up etc?

Thanks,

Matt

Yes you will notice the difference in acceleration/pick up. You will also notice it on the highway; sitting on 120+ will drive you crazy.

Re: 3.0 TO 3.5 GEARS- Will I notice the difference?

Thanks mate, just wanted to see how much of a difference it will make. I only drive the car about once a month for about an hour, so the high speed revs shouldn't get to me too much.

Is the acceleration rate difference quite noticible??

Thanks again mate!

Cheers,
Matt

The 3.5 gears make the car feel like it is on top of the gear nearly all of the time. It is a good ratio choice as it is not too short. The car will feel a lot lighter with the new gears.

Feel free to play around with some figures in my calculator. You can see what variations there will be in speed with changes to tyre height, diff ratio and engine RPM. Hope you find it useful.

Yes, you will.

I could even feel the difference going from a 2:92 to a 2:77.
