I was wondering if someone would have any idea where i could get some reference material realating to the 3.27 Diff, eg bearings,crown wheel spacers and any other information that would be vauable in regards to setting up the diff.

Gears out of what, and into what? 3.27 will only fit EB to AU inclusive, not EA.

try a ford work shop manual, there should be all the specs for the diffs in there.

ea have a 25 spline axel dont they? whereas the eb onwards have the 28?

I'm a bit confused as to why they put a 3.27 diff in the XG model, can I change to a 3.08 or 2.77 to try and get better fuel eco.
I have some diff's at home but as always they will not fit for they are all out of coil model cars and I have a ute.
What can I do????????

What gearbox in the XG? Don't assume lower RPM means better fuel economy. Ben.

Don't go any lower than 3.08! Take off will be dismal with a 3.08. For the sake of a few hundred RPM, there's really no point. You're not going to see much of a drop in fuel consumption if any at all.

Have you thought about placing some higher tyres on the rear.
There are calculators on the web that will help you determine the KPH variation.
It's much easier to swap around some tyres then commit to a ratio change that may not give you what you want.
