ok I have a EA Fairmont Ghia, 3.9mpfi, 3 speed auto (i know it sucks)...i haven't put pics up yet but u couldn't even tell its an EA.
Anyway...to me the take off is near pathetic, so i have heard people talking about a 3.45 diff, i know that they do but would get make that much of a difference??
am i right ihn saying that atthe moment it has a 2.92?
how much would one set me back to get put in?

You do realise the RPM at highway speeds will be 3500Rpm or so?
Better off doing a manual conversion.... (Or both :bs3: )

your highway speed is 1 to 1 gear will be about 2900 - 3000 rpm. not much different to what it would be doing with 3.23 gears. has to be in third running 1 to 1.
