confused 3.45 LSD conversion for EA

Ok i've finally tracked down an Xr6 diff out of an ED. Now i've already did a search on this topic, but i still need MORE info on what exactly do i need to do the mounting bushes??? Basically what the wrecker has told me it "should" fit with the matching trailing arms + tailshaft to the diff. Now the diff mounts are different from Ea to EB/D wise and the wrecker has also told me there is a little "fiddling" around but it can fit.

Need a run down on things b4 i head off 2morrow morning to check it out and get it fitted!

grab the diff, lower trailing arms, and the tailshaft and you will be fine

Isn't it the upper trailing arms? They need a scallup out of the bottom so they don't hit the diff, but having said that, the diff shoul dhave the original mounting holes and XR mounting holes 25mm below that. Mine does, but I can't fit the upper control arms in the holes because the bottom edge of the upper control arm interferes with the top of the diff housing.

Either put the EA arms in the standard holes, or get some XR upper control arms so you cam lower your roll centre by 25mm.

in that case grab the diff, all 4 control arms (lower for the wider bush, upper for the lower roll center) and the tailshaft for the mounting flange

The ea also will have the narrow style bush on the body so either way one set of trailing arms is going to need to have a set of bushes changed.

Also if the upper trailing arms don't have good bushes you can substitute them for EF/EL ones or you can modify your own.

guys i ended up getting a 3.27 LSD out of a Eb Fairmont.... cause the wrecker "thought" he had a 3.45 LSD.... got later lower control arms with some mods to the mounts.

anyways.. goin from 3.23 single spinner to 3.27 LSD, i just need to know how much my speedo wil be out of whack by... and how to fix it.

the speedo will read faster than you are actually going. I'd leave iot because it will only be a bee's dick out and sometimes its addes security against camera's. Otherwise change the speedo sender in the gearbox.
