Hey Guys,

Finally got myself a 3.45 LSD for my AU. It's getting shipped up from Sydney tonight. Cost me $440 for the complete diff (disc to disc) and 3 month warranty which I thought was pretty cheap. The thing is, it's out of an EL Ghia. Will this diff bolt into the AU or will I have to change the housings???? I want to avoid the $350 charge to get them swapped at the local diff place and the I'm pretty sure that it'll void the 3 month warranty.

I have posted in the tech forum a few times with no answers, I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me.

Also, if anyone is interested, I will have a 3.08 SS up for sale soon.

dont forget to adjust the speedo for the new ratio, I.E. speedo gearbox sensor I belive.

Oops, yeah I mean't to ask about that. What colour gear do I need??? I rang Ford about 5 mins ago and they didn't know how to tell the difference. Talk about useless!!

2.77 LSD to 3.27 LSD what speedo gear required?

send a PM to WBT56 he seemed to answer my question without trouble, not that I ended updoing the diff, have matched diff and gearbox to install now.

What ever you do you'll need to atleast get the centre put into your current diff housing. That way you can keep the pretty wheels. Use the el diff as it is and the car will handle badly because you will be basically sitting a falcon on a corolla wheelbase.

What do you mean NZ? Does that have something to do with the AU wheel offset? I thought that only affected the front of the car, but I'm probably wrong.

The wheel offset is different front and rear. You'd need to run those controversial spacers.

I'd suggest swapping the internals instead. Best of luck with it.

Damn....I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that, oh well. Does anyone have a pic of an E series and and AU diff that I could have a look at to see what the difference is.

you didnt buy the diff from that mob at narellan did you?

If thats the case I'll call them and buy one myself in the coming weeks.....what a price!

It would be different front to rear if he used the EL diff.

The way it looked when i read your reply it sounded like you meant the AU offset was different front to rear.
