Hey Fellas,

Sorry, I know there has been very similar threads but mainly dealing with later model cars, so here I go.

I've just put a 3.9 ratio bw into my XE which is also running a toploader.

My problem is now the speedo is obviously out.

What is the cheapest/easiest way to correct the speedo given that I'm still using the factory elec speedo.

Have talked to a mate who is a bit of a ford guru who tells me that XW GTs had 3.9 9" diffs with toploaders but I may need to change the speedo drive ring also (in the rear section of the gearbox).

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I know I can go to CRS or get a correction box but a few too many biscuits atm. :(

Get a speedo gear for 3.7, and this should get you within range of the adjustment in the dash.

The Phase III had a 3.9:1 diff as an option. Speedo drive gears are available.

Through Ford?

Was there different drive rings inthe rear of the gearbox?

Any idea what colour/teeth I would need?

Whats required/how do you adjust the speedo head?

To my knowledge they are all the same. (black)

I believe a red one? for 3.9 diff.

Drop the dash out. On the back of the speedo head there is an access hole for a screwdriver. There is a trimpot inside.
We have the gears in stock. PM me.
