3spd and 4spd

Just wondering, in the EA, does the 4spd improve acceloration much compared to the 3 spd?

Nah, not really, they both have the same rations, the 4 speed just has the overdrive.

Perhaps the 4 speed cars might be quicker, but that would only be due to the smoother shifts. But other than that, IMO opinion, its basically the same till u get out on the highway

According to official figures, the 4 speed was 0.5 seconds quicker 0-100 - perhaps due to a slightly shorter diff ratio.

Ahhhh too true, I never thought about the different diff.

But if it were the same diff, i dont think either or would be quicker.

If you currently have a 3 speed and are thinking of fitting a 4 speed dont bother unless you do as much highway driving as I do.
If you want bolt in performance.....change the diff
