hey..

I have recently got my S5 solinoid and inhibitor switch changed in my EF 4spd auto.. after getting this done the shifter would not shift into 3,2 or 1st gear manually without ALOT of force.. and i mean ALOT, what is causing this to happen? has this happend to anyone before? maybe the mechanic has tangled something up inside the valve body? I am taking it down on wedneday morning so he can have a look at it, I just wouldent mind knowing a little about it before i do take it down!

I would say the shift linkage hasn't been reassembled correctly. It's not unusual for the workshop to lose the washers, forget to tighten the nuts or adjsut the linkage correctly.

thanks blue.. i found out what it was today.. apparently the zed-link was bent? im guessing this is a linkage .. the mechanic tried telling me that i done it although the car was shifting perfectly BEFORE i took it down there, apart from the problems of a inhibitor switch and S5 solinoid..when i got it back bam, it wouldent shift into 3 2 or 1.. now his demanding $100, so im ringing fair trading tommorow.. the blokes a total ****witt. rob
