When I am driving my car down a hill at around 20km/h and put it into 1st gear and let it gurgle down the hill, sometimes it changes back up into 2nd then back down to first then up to 2nd again whilst the gear selector is in 1st. It even does this when it is in 2nd too, although it will only change to first then back up to 2nd.

Also when I am driving it manuelly (i know this isnt to good for the box and its problem the reason why its stuffing up) and I am in 1st gear and i go to select 2nd gear it will take a while to change into 2nd gear, so its like 1st 2nd rev rev then it changes into 2nd.

What is the problem with it? I have transmission fluid in it. Is it in need of a service maybe??????

When you are using the gears, say you go from 1st to second, the gearbox will change from first to second when it feels the car is going fast enough, it won't just change when you tell it. The only reason to use the gears is when you want to hold a gear, eg 1st or second if you are pulling a trailer or doing a burnout and don't want it to shift out of gear, because you need to maintain high revs.

The opposite works when dowshifting.. If you're in 4th, and downselect to 3rd, it will do it..

And also, i wouldn't be putting the car into 1st at ALL when it's in motion, never use 1st unless you are towing and are going up a damn steep hill..
